About the Event

Myth and sculpture emerged together as early expressions of humanity’s desire to understand the unknown and give form to shared aspirations. In The Myth of the Present World, Jiang Shuo and Wu Shaoxiang reimagine this tradition through contemporary sculpture, suggesting that myths have not disappeared but evolved alongside modern society. Blending ancient Chinese folklore with symbols of consumer culture and globalized life, their playful and ironic works invite reflection on enduring human desires for happiness, freedom, love, prosperity, and belonging. Through exaggerated, archetypal figures, the artists create modern myths that resonate across cultures and generations.
